My pair of cockatiels, their aviary, their first reproduction
Hello community, it is with great pleasure that I make this post.
I've loved cockatiels for many years and it was by chance that I discovered these magnificent flying friends.
One day I was driving by and I saw a cockatiel on the side of the road, I asked my father to stop the car, I picked her up and took care of her until unfortunately she passed away a few years ago.
Since that time I have always had this passion for cockatiels, which led me to build a vivarium for them.
This couple in the images has been together for over a year and I was already losing hope that they would mate and that one day I could have cockatiels from this couple.
Almost a month ago I noticed that the female and the male entered the nests that I placed, but little by little I observed but it seemed that the first egg never came, I wasn't even sure if they had laid it or not because I didn't see the mating act.
After a few days I noticed that although they initially entered one of the two nests they only used one and that was when I looked and to my surprise I saw the first egg.
It was a very exciting feeling, a few more days passed and more eggs arrived.
Curiosity grew until one day I caught myself peeking into the nest and saw my first cockatiel chick so cute inside, it made me feel a mix of emotions, happiness and euphoria, it was my first cockatiel chick that had been born.
Now I just have to wait a few more days and see if more are born.
Below are some photos of my cockatiel couple and my cleaning of the aviary, such as sweeping up the rest of the seeds and changing the water and food.
